Air Exchange Help
    #3325595 - 11/05/04 08:03 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

I have yet to put my cakes into the grow chamber yet (still colonizing). I have  a question about placement of a fan... I have a 20gal rubbermaid container with a hole i've cut over the top and taped a filter over. Will this provide enough air exchange? If I can avoid having any wires running in/out of the container the better. But I was also thinking I've wiring a small 12v computer fan inside the container. If I were to do this, would it be more beneficial to have the fan connected to the filtered opening, or to have it mounted inside to increase air flow over cakes? Will it make a huge difference of having a filtered opening? Or can i just leave it sealed (keeping humidity up a little higher i assume) and fan/mist once or twice a day (i do have to owkr also  ).

Thanks for your help,
BB

PS. I have the cakes elevated with fogger/RO water and heater underneath providing humidity if i go the root of having wires.

This will only work if you have it on a timer to come on every 4-6 hours.

Remember, the whole point of a fruiting chamber is to have high humidity. Having a fan on will dramatically lower humidity and work against you by drying your cakes out.
