And remember, if any Ameican soldiers get hurt or killed, IT'S THEIR OWN FAULT FOR SIGNING UP FOR THE ARMY.
U.S. troops were reportedly making final preparations, cutting off all roads in and out of Fallujah and awaiting the green light from Allawi for a large-scale ground attack.

Result? Two Arabic/Jihadist-supportive nations are overthrown. Massive casualities on the part of Al-Qeada and other terrorists.
Situation:
Jihadists and insurgents in Iraq attack American forces. We don't want to hurt their religious buildings out of respect. Bush doesn't want to appear cruel or have more pictures of dead Arabic Children that we must automatically assume are due to the crusadeds of the evil west, flashing on TV before the election. Now Bush, a religious conservative, was re-elected by astounding measures. He sees that the people are with him and he now believes that God supports him (thats just my conjecture from knowing how religious people of all sort think). He doesn't have an election to worry about and he has the most powerful well-trained military in the world at his disposal surrounding and locking down the haven of where the insurgents that have caused the trooops and his election so mcuh trouble are held up.
Result:
shock and/or awe complete destruction of the terrorists. The tropps are dropping pamplhets telling the women and children to leave the city. It'll just be the people that hate us in the city, and we'll just bomb it to rubble. sorry about your mosque, we'l built a new one.

It will be about as smooth as in Somalia. What will we gain with this "victory" besides more dead civilians and US soldiers and more repercussions in other parts of Iraq? Let's just pour more gasoline on the fire, eh?
As predicted, this will be JUST LIKE Viet Nam where we kill more and more of the people we are there to liberate.

Same shit, different religion. The insurgents in Falluja are also religious conservatives. They also believe that God is on their side. They firmly believe that they are fighting evil just as the U.S. believes they are fighting evil. bloody guerilla warfare and terrorist attacks between the Shiite and Sunni and/or those who are loyal to the new government regime and those who wish for some sort of Islamist state.
the US will continue to battle the insurgency to no avail, but will gradually pull out as they train more and more regime troops/police. as the US gradually pulls out, the in-fighting will grow. I see a long civil war not unlike the on-going 30+ year civil war in Colombia between the government forces, marxist guerillas, and the counter-insurgency paramilitaries. It'll be complex and multi-sided.
that's my prediction if our trajectory continues. I hope I'm wrong.

i hated that we went there. there has been thousands of years of war there. dick-head sadam ruled with a shot-gun in his hand and that was the only way to keep peace. there will be civil war after we pull out. they cant stand each other, they just hate us more.

Hard to see how. The US doesn't appear to have the tail for street-fighting. They've had their ass handed to them time and time again by heroic resistance from a vastly inferior force with hardly any weaponry.
They might kill a few thousand more civilians but what good will that do?
