So, you admit that Democratic voters are of diminished mental capacity, thank you.
-------------------- To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.' Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence. Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains. Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

I'm not so sure about that anymore, now if the politicians acted like the definition of Conservative and liberal then I might agree, unfortunatly The left has people like Kennedy and Wrangle dictating policy direction when they represent about 5% of the public. On the other hand you have dipshits from the right who praise the late Byrd and let Pat robertson speak for the religios conservatives. Hell I'm a christian and I can't stand the religious right.

Dude, I voted for Badnarick. I think Liberals are worse than Conservatives (the real sense of the word) but I find both of them as shallow as the average political promises.

More people voted for bush then any other president in history.
This certainly does not equal a mandate. It is actually a bar/church fallacy.
If you look at any stats you will see that the amount of bars is directly tied to the number of churches in a given area. The more churches you find, the more bars you will find. One can assume that obviously, being religious drives people to alcoholism.
Association does not equal causation. There are more bars and churches because there are more PEOPLE.
There are more people in this country than in all of history. We had an election with a higher voter turnout than normal, Bush scraped by with 51% of the vote. I find it humorous how many times I've heard this "fact" especially when its tied to "a mandate"...

what about the senate races? That alone should count as a mandate.

Well I'm not sure how many seats were gained, but I can't imagine it being much more substanstial than the presidential election, but will freely admit that if anything is a mandate, its the congressional results. Though its good to remember that its a mandate for "not being the strawman party."

Democrats are very bright. They bitched and moaned that Bush wasn't the President in 2000, even though he clearly was elected.
They told us to wait until the midterm elections and that those would be the real barometer, even though they knew that Presidents historically lose seats in their first midterm election. The midterm elections came, and Terry McCullogh (sp?) spent the entire democratic warchest on running Janet Reno against a popular Governor in Florida. It wasn't a wise political move, it was done just for spite. And who's bright idea was Janet Reno? Terry should have lost his job then. Like she ever had a chance.
Anyway, the first midterms came and went, and Bush picked up seats in the House and won a majority in the Senate. The Dems then claimed that the midterms meant nothing.
Then they focused on the reelection being a referendum on George Bush and his "failed policies". Bush responed by being the first President to win a majority of the vote since 1988, claiming the most votes in Presidential history and picking up seats in the House and the Senate. Still this apparently means nothing to Democrats!
I wonder what it will take. The real arguments of politics are going on within the Republican party right now. All the Democrats can do is sit on the sidelines, whine like babies, and try to fuck things up and much as possible with procedural protests and rants in the leftist media.
Look at the people you run for office. Keep offering us the Pelosis and the Kerrys and the Renos of the world, and we will keep clubbing them down like Dick Cheney hunting for baby seals. You liberals should clue in to the fact that this country has taken a turn for the right. Know you role and shut your mouths. Bow down before the ones you serve.
I can't wait until you fuckheads on the left run Hitlery Clinton for office. She won't win one of those Red states and we will pick up even more senate seats. Rudi is going to take her seat away anyway.
It is good to be King. Now go and do my bidding.

Sounds good! Then you better not deny that in 2000, the majority of the country wanted Gore to be president and the GOP made sure it didn't happen.
Here's all I'm saying in this forum:
It's just a battle of two evils and clearly one is much, much, (x1000) much worse than the other. I don't WANT Kerry to be our president but I would rather have him than Bush. Anyone in their right mind should be able to see this.
Why would you ever want bush to win? I'm not saying Kerry is OK, but can anyone tell me 1 positive thing about bush?
He refused to meet with the NAACP and when Kery confronted him about it, he tried to lie to the country on live TV. All he cares about is his damn wallet.
Bye bye now.

That would of been a good argument if it weren't for the pesky Electoral College via: the constitution.

They're both bad and I don't care if one is worse than the other they are still bad. You on the left settled for a bad option and you have noone but yourself to blame. I picked who I thought was the best and I went with Badnarick because I no longer want to elect a bad option.
Quote:

it's amazing that no matter how many times I mention that I wanted Badnarick to win people still think I voted for him.

I can't blame him. The NAACP is a joke of an organization running on fear and racism.

that map might have one fluid ounce of relevance if electoral college votes where given out based on which candidate won a specific county instead of a specific state.

stop saying that. Your really referring to like 30% of the population. Its hardly a majority.

those are counties, like you said earlier..if you want a state map go to cnn.com. At least be consistent or I'll start calling you a democrat...

Yeah, Bush won with 29 states electorial votes. I know those are counties, but that doesn't take away from the 29 states electorial votes does it? reread what she said and then what I said.

Well if we asked everyone in the US to vote then you'd actually have a point, but unfortunatly you have to register to vote and be over 18, therefor a majority have spoken (yes a majority), learn to live with it.

why dont we break it down even more--
"My street has 12 registered voters, 7 voted bush and 5 voted Kerry...my street is Bush country."
the map has no revelance as far as electoral college votes are concerned. my county is a blue sliver surrounded by a sea of red.
Oh...and my county represents at least 40% of the population of my entire state. and Kerry won my state.
go toast me a fucking bagel.
