    #3320161 - 11/04/04 02:06 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

i have found a few, but the prices have been outrageous ($50/10 seeds or $150/cutting) any help would be appreciated.

I bought pre germinated seeds from cocamama two years ago. They worked very well. I grow both Erythroxylum coca and Erythroxylum novogranatense. But its not season for coca seeds this time of year so i seriously doubt you find any viable seeds anywhere. and cuttings are illegal to sell in alot of country so that can be hard too find, never heard of anyone selling cuttings before

There was a site that sold seeds and germinated seeds. They're now gone. Either because its illegal or because they were ripping people off.

You already had one of these threads deleted, seems like common sense should tell you not to make another one.

From what I've read seeds are also only viable for a VERY short period of time.

coca seeds are hard to get and are quite expensive. I always wondered about cocamama, not only qualitywise but trustwise.

No sources please.

the options to buy seeds has been removed from cocamama over a year ago (could be a season thing). It only contains info on growing and basic info.

I orderet, like I said, 2 years ago. I got 10 plastic tubes with pre germinated seeds. 3 of them survived. The plant was later identified by NTNU university in Norway to be a E. coca.

Btw 50 dollars for 10 viable coke seeds is very cheap, its actually so cheap i would not trust any source selling for that price. I dont remember what I paid for the E. coca seeds but I think it was anywhere between 15 and 20 dollars per seed.
rare ethnobotanical seeds does cost money, I have paid over 50 dollars for one single seed (L. inebrians)

I should also add that Erythroxylum novogranatense seems to me to a easier plant to grow. It grows faster and seems healthier under artifical lights than E. coca.

note, I do not break any laws with cultivating this two species, I do not produce cocaine, if your goal is to produce cheap coke I must advice against it, notso much because you risk jail but even small amount of cocaine requires expensive and big grow setups.

Yes, L. inebrians was fairly easy to grow, I had a outdoor bed that came back for 2 generations before it died off. It produced very little seeds and that combined with extreme weather killed them off,I live in a climate very similar to alaska. they produce little foliage indoors and I did not manage to get seeds indoors either.

I want to do more experiences with this plant in the future but its not something thats so important for me anymore. The effects to intoxicant mint was a little disapointment. From a scale from 1 to 10 this sedative gets a 5 from me. But it could be that I expected too much from this plant.

No, they are not closed.  They don't offer seeds because they are sold out, but I think there are plants for sale in the store in the member section.  They are taking new orders for seeds next year :frown: and I may just have to buy some.  I wish they didn't cost so much $$$ though :smirk:

not to hijack, but I was lucky enough to get to try some of that stuff, and I have to say, I wasn't very impressed. Not only was it one of the most disgusting things I have ever drank, but the effects where quite mild, might be good to quell mild anxity (or mayube I should have taken more), personally I think there is a lot of hype about this herb.
