i have the castings, now what?

Okay i have my 10 pounds of castings. Now is this as easy as i read? Im juts going to sterilize teh casting in my oven, place it in my rubbermaid, and innoculate witha pf cake...... Im going to make a slurry with teh pf cake and a blender

but it seems to me that holographic pretty much always knows what hes talking about.. i've never read a post that he apeared to give bad advice, except when being sarcastic or something.....

combine 1 part dry castings with once part moist casings. seal in g atupperware container and steam in the microwave for a few minutes. combine with equal part of moistened verm and inoculate with spawn. I would advise against blending a colonized cake. instead crumble it and inoculate the casings normally.

Carmex, did you get the casting compost from yelmworms? I used this stuff as a casing layer without sterilizing and was free of contams, I really doubt you need to sterilize it. PM me with any 'positive' results you have with 'spawning' this stuff ok.

Did you get them from mushroompeople? If you did, you probably should adjust the ph to 7-7.5. A friend has used those after pf corrected and mixed in some oystershell the in the pressure cooker for a while in a autoclave bag, then spawn.

Man, talk abot a twisted post....anyways, i got my castings in austin, texas...rabbit hills or something, but i did order coir from yelworms.com.... I made my casting , and innoclulaterd with a mycelium slurry....1.5 days and look good..ill keep yalll posted.
