WBS question ( about soaking)
    #3321128 - 11/04/04 06:07 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

i just had a question i have a 100% jar and it has sat there for three days to full colonize which isnt really a problem with WBS but whatever...

the question was i am planning on trying G2G with this jar and i need to soak the grain for 12-14 hours but the thing is that would mean i would have to put the grains in water at like 1 o clock tonight so that i could do them tommorow afternoon. I was wondering would soaking for like 16 hours mess up water content of burst grains or anything cause i don't really wanna wake up that early. Or should i just wait until this weekend to do it i know the jar will be fine but i was just wondering about soaking WBS for that long of a time

thanks
-mike

alot of people soak for 24 hours or more and skip the simmering... soaking doesnt really retain much water.... the simmering does that

As a matter of fact, G is rinsing and draining some WBS that has been soaking for 24hrs. No plans to simmer.

Have fun!

yeah, I soaked for almost 24 hours...

and simmered for a little bit, they soaked up a whole lot of water when I simmered them, I would recommend simmering...

Simmering the seed could be G's ticket to success. Can't do any worse than he has been. Him and WBS don't see eye to eye. :shake:
