 Weed and tripping

Hey, what is your opinion about smoking weed on a trip? Do you think it changes it, adds to it, or ruins it? What about in spiritually intended (aka, "real") trips? That is how I use psychedelics. If I am just using them to get high with friends, I will definately smoke weed, but I rarely trip like that anymore. I use them as tools. I mainly use LSD and shrooms, although I will be getting into DMT (ayahuasca, and elfspice), and mescaline (only cacti, cant find the synth shit) soon enough. What do you think?

I consider weed as a necessity for tripping pretty much. That's my opinion of course.

I find that it largely depends when you smoke...
Before a trip = nice relaxation
During come-up = More intense, more mental cloudy-ness
During peak = Usually a skyrocket in intensity
During come-down = a good time do smoke...it'll let you relax, calm you down, and give you the opportunity to reflect on the trip (not that you couldn't do this without weed, but it can sometimes make it easier)
These are just my opinions and observations of course, YMMV

Yeah I definitely agree with dblaney's explanation of times to smoke during the trip. In my case, I usually need to smoke during the come-up because I have a difficult time handling the increased anxiety. Once I'm tripping, I love smoking weed because it intensifies the trip, and the mushrooms (to me anyway) make the weed seem better.

i agree. definately will knock your socks off when done at the peak of a lsd trip. but its is sometimes good when doing something new to do it on itd own so you get "that" message. but it depends.

I've smoked at all those times... during the same trip.
Before a trip is good, during the come up does make it cloudy sometimes, during the peak... well it kicks up the trip a couple notches, and after your peak... the best time to smoke weed!
Once I smoked during my come-up... and I reached my peak alot quicker than usual... almost instantly... damn that was a trip.

smoking pot has really messed with my trips before. it has a tendency to bring some major mindfuck to the point where it wasn't even enjoyable, but thats just me.

with shrooms, I like to smoke right when I feel my stomach tingling (about 20-30 min after eating). This is a nice way (for me) to enter a trip with less nausea

I used to trip without the slightest notion of nausea...
*sigh*... I miss those days. Quite often have I puked from shrooming.

I strangely like the intense come up feelings I get and prefer to leave them untarnished by weed, but after I begin getting visuals and really start feeling the trip setting in I begin smoking.
I don't know what it is about the come up, I guess I like the weird "orb of emotional pressure" that pushes on my head.. kind of like someone is squeezing both sides of my head .. not enough to hurt, just add pressure. A lot of people don't like it from what I've seen and read. A close friend of mine whom I have written about in other posts will puke everytime around 40 minutes after ingestion without weed.

Does anyone find that when they smoke weed, like a few days after doin alot of mushrooms, that you get a mild mushroom trip? I was as sober as could be an decided to smoke some weed...so I smoked a few bowls and next thing i know i got closed eye halucinations. My brain was also acting the same way as it does on mushrooms. Things were also flying everywhere...and I kept seein neon swirlies.

I usally like to smoke durring the come up to help me relax. But then durring the rest I will not smoke because I do not need it. Plus it seem to as said earlier cloud my thoughts, doesnt allow as much insigt. At least for me. But then I will smoke at the end of the come down as it is a good time for reflection of the night.

I like to smoke during the come-up of a mushroom trip; it helps to relax and enter the right mindset for the journey. After the effects have kicked in, however, I don't notice the effects of cannabis at all. It tastes good and smells good, and it brings a nice atmosphere and mood to the trip, but I can smoke bowl after bowl, and never experience any change in my state of consciousness. Does anybody else feel this way? Everybody I know seems to feel the same way I do, but it looks like everyone here actually experiences the effects of herb while tripping.

I have NEVER tripped without smoking some greens.
I haven't tripping that much anyway, but I think I should experience shrooms by 'emselves.

hmmm... well, I have the same issue you do. Basically, weed makes me trip balls some times now. I believe it started after I smoked and shroomed at the same time, so I was curious as to whether you had smoked and shroomed at the same time as well.
I think what MIGHT happen (remember, just a thought I had) is that for some people, the use of shrooms, or the use of shrooms in conjuction with weed, causes increased sensititivity or reactions towards the psychedelic effects of weed.
I say don't worry about it though. I mean, it's like a free trip!!! TO DISNEYLAND!!!
