Best time to case is?

new bie here with great success at cakes. Not exactly sure when the best time to slice and crumble and case is...help would be much appreciated.. i have 2 inheads showing..... should i do it now? or right when the cakes are completely white and no primordia yet....... thanks

Casing should be done before primordia begin to appear. If using cakes I would crumble a few days after the cake is totally colonized, in order to be sure the center of the cake is also colonized
