post some pics (!)
    #3317300 - 11/03/04 11:27 PM (12 years, 3 months ago)

anything garden related

here's my closet setup, 400w hps, dwc tank w/ 4 netpots, a few fluros for seedlings and clones, there's a cfl in that wierd looking reflector by the dwc tank focused on a seedling. a dome with rockwool and a fluro to help the little guys out. anyone wanna donate to the "Help John get real ventalation fund" :smirk:

btw thats habanero and some kind of succulent (forget the name) that i took a cutting of from school because it was pretty in the soil pots by the dwc tank.

some cacti-

special coleus were working on in school and tissue culture of the same-

culture of many venus flytraps that eventually make they're way into local stores-

show me some of your cool shit :stoned:

i'm gonna get a lot more stuff soon but a lot of what i want is trees or large plants and i'm in a small apartment so that kinda sucks but there's always the balcony.

Peyote garden, planted last summer.

Salvia Divinorum, finally starting to look healthy after a slow start.

they're there just my cam sucks and id didn't really think they were worth taking pics of, but-

i had to start a new as i had some stuff in there for school and didn't want mj in the background.

i don't really want to graft the peyote as i never plan on eating it anyway, just let nature take it's course.

nice pics everyone :stoned:

nice (!)

i just bought some more lights, i went to lowes to check out their metal halide security lights and they wanted $70 for a 75w  fuck that i got nice 80w (2x40w) hanging fixture for smaller stuff and 3 50w cfl's and reflectors for the same price, that turns out to be like 3x's the wattage for the same price even though mh is a little better it's not near 3x's better, probably not even 1.5x's better plus i can move these around to where they need to be easier. to bad i can only use two of the cfl bulbs though, if i hook the third one up it trips the circuit for my room. i have way too much stuff hooked up in here all running off a single 10. at least i split the electric bill 3-ways though probably 75%+ is because of me

i also just ordered a buch of plants i've been wanting-
Banisteriopsis caapi
Coffea arabica
Mitragyna speciosa
Nicotiana rustica
Salvia divinorum (Hofmann & Wasson)
Sceletium tortuosum
Psychotria carthaginensis

lunatix those sallys were grow indoors the whole time? look good, hopefully i can keep them in my closet under my fluros as the humidity is perfect due to wicking water from the dwc tank but i'm afraid it might be to hot. i'm having trouble keeping the temps down, if i crank up the hps it''ll reach 90F in there with the fan going crazy and the door open. anyone have any suggestions on keeping the heat down (note: i cannot put holes in the walls or doors)?

I love the setup in that last picture Luna.

zerozero: Most of those seedlings were planted early september, apart from the four big ones near the bottom of the pic.  Those were sowed in may. I guess it will take ten years of so before they'll be edible, less if I graft a couple now and then.

ten years thats nothing, i'm starting right now, by then i should have prepared myself for the trip.
thanks for the info, and i bet if you got a small HID you could speed that up quite a bit, maybe like 8 years.

nice job there, enjoy.

looks like some sort of Borzicactus to me, we have one that looks exactly like it in a greenhouse at school and none of the teachers could id it, i though it was perv at first but it had to many ribs. not really sure there are a few cacti that look just like that.

i decied to fix my ventaliation prob and dropped $100 today, most of that was on a drill and a jigsaw though, i couldn't find a place to cut the hole for me :frown:

the bottom pulling cool air in

top pulling hot air out and that tube is going from my ac vent down behind a fan that blows on all the plants.

a more organized room with a few more lights (the hps isn't on in the pic just the fluros threw off the cam lighting so it looks orange

still gotta seal those holes up probably the small ones with spray insulation and the bigger ones with cloth or something :stoned:

oh and here's one of those cfl's, kinda big eh?
