pressure cooker question
    #3316377 - 11/03/04 08:45 PM (13 years, 23 days ago)

i want to start using bird seed to start growing and i know you need to use a pressure cooker. my parents have one from walmart, but it has no gauge. do you guys think it will still work fine or do i need to know the exact pressure. i know the ideal pressure is 15 psi. thanks a lot.

it could be important for timing purposes. try looking up the make and model on the intarweb to see if you can get any of this info. or go to wal-mart and see if it says on the outside of the box of a new one. or crack open one in the store and read the manual.

drop a drop of water on it when it is up to temp (jiggling) if it starts to boil imeadiatly it will work for grains...if the water runs down the lid and just bubbles a little it will not...and you better not be growing in your P's house without there permision because we frown on that here.
