Crock Pot Bread

Our stove broke down and it was going to be a few days before we got a new one. So I was craving some fresh homemade bread

Hum................Hey I got a crock pot

So I mixed up a batch of our famous bread. Yummy

And in goes the lump. Straight into the crock pot

Wait a couple hours for it to rise...........


Yes time to cook it....................... What? it's done  :thumbup:

Coooooooool get the knifes.........Yuk the middle is raw and the sides are burned :thumbdown:

Man I will not be defeated by some bread.

Thinking thinking thinking.............hum


Ok so I get me two empty coffee cans. One that will fit inside one.

I use olive oil to do up the smaller can. Pack it with a lump about 1/3 the can. Wait a couple hours. Yes the can is full of risen dough.

OK now I take the can and put it into the bigger can. I fill the void around the smaller can with pea gravel. yes pea gravel

Put the entire set up into the crock pot

Cook on high until golden. Yes get the knives.

Yummy it worked very good bread from a very strange set up :thumbup:


So if you ever find yourself with no oven,a good crock pot, washed pea gravel and 2 coffee cans, a deep craving for fresh bread.


Now you know :laugh:

Only I think it may work without the gravel but this is what I did.
