The 311 growers (first time success, so far)
    #3316094 - 11/03/04 05:34 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

We did a total of 24 jars, 12 Ecuador and 12 Aussie from spores we got from TLG. 23 of the jars are colonizing nicely its been about ten days and most of the jars are above 50% colonized. just wondering if we should try casing the jars?

if you have done it before and you feel confident on doing it then yes...

casing gives you a way better yield...

if its your first go around do some cakes and some casings. if the casings go well, you can case the rest of the cakes after their first flush. Worked well for me.

it is always nice to have some cakes and a casing or three so you can note the difference between the two (or not to have all your eggs in one basket)

i agree with georgie - if this is your first time go cakes and casings

decide which you like better.

i personally like casings myself.  a little more work but well worth it

good luck!

casings are sooooooooooo easy

crumble. throw on top sum dry verm. throw sum wet verm on top. if u did a shitty ass job, u would probably still get the yield of a cake. my first cake ever turned into a casing. i forgot about it, adn left it on my floor. 2 days later...tons of pins.

GL!
