So what's the situation there? If an individual was going to Geneva, how easy/safe would it be to get hold of some buds? This individual would of course be going there anyway, and not just for the ganja, not like all the fools who ruined Amsterdam.

Im pretty sure its legal to grow, and you can purchace it in incense baggies all over, but smoking is still illegal.

What do you mean ruined Amsterdam? As far as ive heard all that happened is you cant open new coffee shops and you cant grow. They still sell it though.

Marijuana is not legal and never has been legal in Amsterdam.. The law is referred to as the Amsterdam Model and the drug is tolerated not legal.

In fact somewhere (out of print) there is a book called the Amsterdam model which has the actual law regarding soft drugs for Amsterdam and holland. It also lists many shops and how they had to change the names of their coffe souse to rid them of drug connotations in the names.

I'm not completely sure but this may be inaccurate. Just last month I was in London and was talking to a couple from the Netherlands in a pub one night. Amsterdam and its coffee shops came up. I asked him, "Isn't weed still technically illegal in Amsterdam and just tolerated?" His reply was that a law had been passed just recently that made it legal and not just tolerated. Not sure if he knew what he was talking about but I took his word for it since he was from Holland.

"I hate to say this, but this place is getting to me. I think I'm getting the Fear."
