I'm really moving up to Canada as soon as I get this legal crap taken care of in Florida. Myself, Adamist, and XOIIAresIIOX, at the least.. will be migrating to the great white north. That's the plan and I'm sticking to it. Hopefully we can hook up with some other shroomerites eh.

Im jealous you canadians are closer to cryptopsy gigs than I am. They come down here too, but the venues around here are pretty trashy.

It's halfway between Detroit and Toronto, a little north of Lake Erie. I'm moving into a condo next week with some friends. We each pay $200/month + utilities which usually works out to a little under $300/month. Just to give you an idea of rental costs. I'm broke just about all the time...never have more than $500 in my account, usually closer to $40
I'm fairly certain that you can come stay in Canada for up to 6 months without any paperwork or anything. To get a job in that time you just need to apply for a work visa. Having a job is ESSENTIAL if you wish to become a landed resident or Canadian citizen.
Yes, you are 100% correct..I live about 30 minutes from london, and if i was to move to Canada from anywhere, SW Ontario is the place to go. IMO, dont move to Toronto, its not worth it. Too big of a city. Here for houses can be even cheaper than 300$ a month. I was lookin at places where id have to pay about $200 a month (split with friends). Winter sucks tho..

Silven said: Alright, so everyone's talking about carpentry and what not.. how easy is it to land a computer oriented job?
I design access databases/advanced excel spreadsheets, have a lot of experience doing business proposals, and a bit of sales experience. Much of that around there? Only have the Access Expert certificate, not excel since it was too easy to use and didn't require any classes.
Physical labor isn't a problem, it's just I have specialized in those other areas.. why not take the fruits of the labor.
- Silven
The demand for computer oriented jobs isn't great around here, but im not saying you couldnt get a job in that field. Theres companies always hiring people like you, and having the experiance you do it shouldn't be too hard. Even opening up your own computer business would bring a lot in.

Also if there is someone looking to come to Canada and aren't looking for any job in particular, a job in the skilled trades is definently worth it. Research on it and see how much money you can actually make doing it. I know people that start out at 27$/hour and can go upwards to 40$/hr if they wanted to. They make so much money they dont know what to do with it...but mind you do work alot..

I found a link I wanted to share with everyone especially the people I've been talking with.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizen/becoming-howto.html
It provides information on the requirements to become a Canadian Citizen as well as things that will cause your application to be turned down.
