hi libertarians
    #3313904 - 11/03/04 12:06 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Nevermind Kerry and the Democrats...

I hope that your supposed-inclinations toward libertarian theory was more than pretense. Considering the fact that Bush Inc. can have whatever they want because there is no opposition in Congress, I hope ya'll actually criticize them and hold them accountable - when justly due. I hope your anti-Bush stance is more than lip service and rhetoric born out of a pragmatic political season. I hope being a libertarian isnt just hype.

I hope you can see that the next four years will be rough and quite contrary to anything ya'll libertarians supposedly stand for.

In other words, I hope you guys are true.

Believe me, I certainly do not like Bush one bit. I also happen not like Kerry either. I am certain that the next four years will be a rough ride, but it would have been if Kerry had won, too. I plan on sticking to principle and continuing to criticize the Bush administration as I've always done.

I think a Bush Administration + Republican Congress could cause more damage than a Kerry Administration + Republican Congress. At least a Kerry Administration would have been stifled; now, Bush has control on all fronts (especially if one or two Supreme Court seats become available). Anything he wants, he gets.

don't complain to us, we didn't support the two party system. Talk to those who do support it.

I agree, and that's why I was leaning slightly more towards Kerry. But I still think he could've done a lot of damage.

I think statistically, if every libertarian voted for their own party they would take more votes from Republicans than Democrats. There is a much closer relationship. Even National Review Online frequently features articles from the Cato Institute.

Fine. As long as you pay for the upkeep of the new baby out of your own wage lets ban abortion. You wanted it brought into the world - you pay for it.

I think that if Bush advances his "Ownership Society" that most libertarians will agree with that. Privatizing social security is a move in a libertarian direction. Reforming the tax code and hopefully abolishing the IRS is a libertarian move as well. School vouchers would be another good one, but George sold that out to Ted Kennedy. Guess we have to wait until Jeb gets in office for that, because they have vouchers down in FLA.

I really hope the next one is Jeb Bush vs. Hitlery Clinton. Every Red State today will be a red state then as well. Four More Years!

Anything you like about Bush Bio?

I don't get where you compare Left wing socialists to Right wing fascists like Hitler.

Perhaps that would be true, but these "positive steps" would be completely overshadowed by Bush Inc.s' abuses of the US Constitution and their massive government programs and imperial ambitions. See Ancalagon's recent posting of a Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr. piece as an example: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/3320302/an/0/page/0

Quote:

However, it is about time that the friends of liberty realize the main threat to liberty in our time in our country comes not so much from the left but from the militarist and imperialist right, which has shown itself uninterested in fiscal discipline, peace, civil liberties, constitutional restraints on power, decentralist decision-making, privacy, or freedom of association. Pillars of Western law and justice have been broken and tossed aside by this regime, under the guise of national emergency and security against threats real and imagined.

So infatuated with power has the Bush administration become that it has bragged that it would place its stamp on the whole world. There is no place that would be or should be immune from its influence and control. It would remake the world, its spokesmen have promised, in Trotsky-like pledges.

While you seem to support such a scenerio to the point of masterbating all over youself like Bill O'Really, I find it odd that the White House is becoming more and more of a position held by family members. You can have your Jeb Bush vs. Hillary Clinton election season - no fucking thanks.

Besides his hottie daughters, no. I would spit in his face if I had the chance.
