My roomie's friend fed his kitten some dried weilii. He said the cat was having a great time, running around, chasing/hitting at nothing.
Something I'd never do, but still it has been done.

^^ That's just... wrong. Getting your pets unwillingly high in anyway is cruel in my opinion.

I would have no problem feeding my cat active mushrooms willingly, I guess I am not responsible enough to take care of one

Lets see.. sure, you could tempt a pet to eat mushrooms, hell you could mix it with tuna. The point is that an animal does not know the effect of eating this thing that their trusted human is feeding them. Its sincerely fucked up.

Well Super_Blunt, say i offered you a cone of weed and without your knowledge i put in a pinch of salvia and covered it in weed so you didnt know any better. And after you exhale your world crumbles before your eyes and you thought you just smoked weed. I personally hate cats but its skill cruel to put them through something they have no awareness or knowledge about. Not having a go just putting forward my opinion.

That's a sad thing. I have always wated to add some shroom crumble to my mother-in-laws-birds feed. Thought it would bear interesting fruit! But don't worry, I'm a good trip sitter with humans and birds alike. I won't even let him fly into a window.

Hmmmmm seems like a waste of some good mushies to me....But whatever floats your boats, I'd never give a cat something that I could use myself, except on one occasion where we fed my cat liquid exlax.
-------------------- What I say on the posts is not true!!I never grew, ingested,or distributed mushrooms of any kind.In fact I don't even know what a mushroom is.

Quite contraire, rasjoe. Tripping doesn't have to do with an ego. Sure, ego loss is a symptom of a heavy hallucinogen experience, but that is not the reason you trip.
Tripping happens because you (and most mammals) have serotonin (AKA 5-HT) receptor sites. Psilocin (psilocybin is converted to psilocin in the liver) has a high affinity for 5-HT2A receptor sites. Psilocin molecules block these sites. 5-HT2A sites are thought to be important in perception. So, when serotonin is not able to reach these site, strange things happen... thus you get a trip.
Since mammals have these same receptor sites that we do, they *DO* have a psychedellic experience.
