Problem Finding Supplies
    #3310284 - 11/02/04 04:19 PM (19 years, 4 months ago)

I am having problems attaining Perlite, Vermiculite and canning jars. Do you guys know any major retailers that I could possibly check? Ace Hardware and Home Depot did not have any of the above.

Home depot should have Scott's brand (I think they own scotts) perlite. Mine doesn't have verm.

I too had some troubles finding supplies but after a two day search of all the stores in the area I found that Sears Hardware had perlite, and that Lowe's carried Vermiculite. I also found a small bag of vermiculite in Genuardi's foodstore for some weird reason! Hope that helps you. Be sure to check local nurseries for vermiculite and perlite as well. Good luck!

Wal mart has "ball" jars, 1/2 pint tapered wide mouth and regular, verm is a tough one around here but one little garden center carries it, perlite is at a lot of hardware and garden centers around here, and at franks nursery.

I couldn't find jars anywhere around here, so I ended up ordering them off Amazon.

That's how I found a lot of my supplies.  Saves not only time but gas money.
