If you don't watch the news, if all your political insight comes from radio jockeys, if all you know about Kerry and Bush is what you've seen in commercials during Monday Night Football, if the only reason you're going to the voting booth is because Nickelodeon told you to, do the country a favor and stay home today.

Good idea, why don't we hand out tests at polling places and don't let people vote if they fail? Edit: Oh yea sorry there is now "sarcasm" font.

Seriously, stonedfish is right. I almost feel bad knowing that as one of the few people who are intelligent and informed enough to actually make decisions about politics I am not voting. Oh well. Rock the Vote! yeah! Justin Timberlake!

I sympathize, but I see many, many vectors of corruption and abuse with reinstating poll tests. In America, we have the right to be stupid - for better or for worse. I support basic testing of alzhiemer-ridden elderly (i.e. one or two simply "who is the current president?" type questions).

If you are intelligent and informed, which I don't doubt that you are, why are you not voting?!

Thanks for the personal attack, "kid." You apparently missed the point. Allow me to clarify the clear - if you don't keep up with politics, don't vote. Take note: one who remains in the proverbial dark with regards to relevant issues (ie. Uninformed Voter) would naturally not know if he wants a change in administration. As for the poll tests; this would only work if a fair grading act were implemented, such as an all-white staff. My request was a suggestion. Just because Uninformed Voter is uninformed, does not make him stupid. Uninformed Voter knows he is uninformed and thus can make a decision not to vote, despite his kids hassling him to vote in accordance with Nickelodeon's instructions.

Why? Someone will vote for you if you don't. Your state only has so many electoral votes and they will go to someone no matter what. If you step down and not vote, you're basically letting other people make choices for you.
