HELP A NEW SHROOM HUNTER OUT.
    #3309500 - 11/02/04 11:15 PM (18 years, 1 month ago)

Hi. I recently found this mushroom, along with about ten others, varying in size, and this was a small one. The inner gills are a deep blue/blackish color. I found it today, in a lawn, on the side of the curb. The temperature is about 70 F. It rained a few days ago, and some today. There was two decent sized ones there yesterday too, but I didn't take any. I live in Tennessee, the caps ranged from half an inch, to maybe even 3 inches. The stem is hollow, and it has just your everyday mushroom smell (to me.) I am not sure what color it bruised, because it didn't SEEM to change any, though it might have. It has a slightly rough texture I guess you could say. The spore print was a greyish brown. Can anyone help identify this for me?

(I don't know which method of posting pictures to use, so heres both.)

While that photo is OK, a photo of the underside of the cap would be more valuable.

Try cutting it in half vertically and showing us the cross section. Knowing if the gills are free or attached is also valuable.

Happy mushrooming!

I dont really know what you mean by "in side out" but if you are talking about the uptured cap, that is not a mutation but rather common.
