Mix vermiculite and water together. Vermiculite in the bowl first, add water until it's wet to the point where you squeeze it.. it juuuust drips a little. Mix brown rice flour after.

I mix the water with my verm until it's hit uniform moisture and then mix in the BRF. It's easier this way or you could get too much water in your mix.

I use the http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23061 PF-Tek for Simple Minds and have never had a problem when trying the PF-Tek.

i put the verm in the bowl,BRF on tops of that a slowly pour my water over that, then mix it all together!!

i dont see why any one of these different procedures would cause you to fuck up...really as long as the formula is right i dont think it really matters much, just make sure you mix it well

1 parts water and brf to 2 parts verm, I've noticed that it takes alittle more water than that to get it where i want it, but if you use the right measurements it doesnt matter in what order you do it.

i usually do verm+water, then BRF. but, i wanna try mixing BRF and verm first next time, i think itd make a more uniformly nutrituous substrate.

I've done it both ways, and I've found it easier to get that light fluffy texture if you mix the verm and water, then add the brf. You can do it either way, it just takes more elbow grease.. As long as you mix thoroughly, it shouldn't be much different as far as the mycelium is concerned.

If you are going to use a set recipe and not trying to eyeball the water content, it doesn't matter. You are going to have to mix them up really well anyways... Once it's fairly even, the rest will sort out during sterilization.

Good luck

get the verm wet(use almost all of your water) and gently sprinkle on the brf.. mixing while you sprinkle it on....add just a touch of water when it gets dry...mixing and sprinkling....mixing and sprinkling...Oh yes, that is a happy brf/verm mix...mixing and sprinkling...this is the best way...
