this is a song i made recently.
please take the time to listen to it and critique it for me.
preferably on a psychedelic.

Defining Monolith Time

i posted an early version of it before asking wether or not i should finish making it.

It's hard to pull off a talking sample in front of music, but you did it, nice job

If I could give some crits:
A unified drumkit keeps more consistency in the loop, so it doesn't sound like different samples from different sources. The snare overall sounds too muffled for how clear and deep the kick is and how crispy the hi-hat is...

The granulizer effects with the vocal sample is great, I LOVE that damn thing

The other sounds besides perc and vocals could be brought out even more sometimes--One of many things I've learned from BoC, Shpongle, and Chem. Bros is that you don't have to have the vocals up front to be the main voice. You sometimes get the listener's attention better if they have to tilt their head a bit to understand it.

Try doing some more event editing with different combos of effects. Now that is cool shit

Just my two cents

Overall I like how it turned out too man. Trippy and distracting ("fucking mind" part was kickass)

yea... i never noticed how really damp and quiet the snare was 'til you said it. i'll just sprucen it up.

i also thought i should turn the speaking vocals down a bit. i was trying for it to not be just the main focus, but blend with the music, like how when he talks about the bad science, the music gets more sinister, until he talks about how positive they are again.

i think if i quiet the speaking down and put a bit of reverb on there... possibly a slight slight echo, itll blend together better.

thanks for the comments and ideas.

i also think i need to bring the bass out and make it deeper during the "fucking mind" part.

thanks again for your time

Dude, that is fucking wicked! One of my favorite authors of all time (he really is a cool guy), and you put some kickass music behind his voice and blended it well. I'm so envious right now, i'm just now starting to make music :p Peace
