Just was wondering to what extent other people have the color puddles when they AREN'T shroomin or under the influence of anything. I get em not really bad but pretty bright stuff even when Im completely sober.

I've never noticed too many Closed-Eye Visuals when I'm sober - then again, my eyes are open the whole day. If I close my eyes and put pressure on them I can see a fairly nice display of distorted geometric neon pulses of dim light. I think that's normal, though. Give it a shot.
It may be worth noting that I can make myself hallucinate while sober (open eyes). I just sort of "let go" and stop trying to keep it together (sorry for the hippy decription), and I begin seeing the sorts of things that I would see on a mild trip of one sort or another. Even without trying, I've got visual distortions up the zatch (I.E. repeating patterns), which has been true ever since I took acid a few times, so I'm used to them.

I remembering when i was very little watching cev's laying in bed before sleep. Some times i would have to push my eyes a little to get them started.
I can get cevs anytime if i concentrate and almost always have stuff in my perifeal vision being distorted and off.

yeah, thats normal i say. and its all to the good when it comes to meditating. i focus on the lights and the patterns they take, eventually its just like a huge energy boost, almost like poppin a roll, but so pure and divine of a feeling. your peering into your own light, really.

I always have some kind of CEV's, maybe more so now, due to SSRI's. I also get trip-like distortions in my peripheral vison every so often, but it's not bothering me in anyway. If it did, I guess I'd be suffering from mild HPPD

when I'm falling asleep, sometimes i'll wake up a bit as I'm going under, and see really intense CEV's, spinning patterns, orbs beginning at the periphery and flowing towards the center, where they dissapear, and random, crazy, goofy imagery. I love that. I was incredibly hungover yesterday and had CEV's all day, even a couple weird fugue states (i was really sick). I kept thinking, I wish I could find a drug that would make me feel this way MINUS THE TERRIBLE NAUSEA.

now that you say that, i do remember getting some crazy ass CEV after vibrations during an out of body, they most resemble the CEV's i had off of MDA.
i say its something we dont know a whole hell of a lot about, and just calling them CEV's, its gotta be something far greater than shit for amusement purposes....you know?

In response to Noviseer. Ive had sleep paralysis before, where I woke up DURING R.E.M. and saw a woman float across my room and I could not move and couldnt speak either and felt my body fling back and come back to normality was quite a frightening experience.

im always asking my eye doctor crazy ass questions, and without directly asking him if cev's are normal, i asked him if cev's are normal. and he said as long as you dont see shit like that with your eyes open you are fine, little does he know.
