Possible bay area cyan?

i dont have a pic but heres the description...

A. S.F. Bay Area on wood chips

B.

C. cap diameter: 1" Stem: 1 1/4"

D. Tan, soft, hollow, thin

E. Cap: Rusty brown turning tan after picked, conical convex

F. Gills: Tan-brown

G. dark blue to black

H. mushroomy smell

Yeah I have found a lot of those on woodchips (alder and other kinds) so far this year, Galerina's or whatever the deadly lookalikes are with tan/brown gills.

I got home and checked the print.... and god damn it a Galerina! Well its back on the trail.

I picked cyans this year in sf  woodchip/soil/tall grass they where growing with what I believe was a galerina..... be careful. The cyans have this greenish sickly look to the caps after picking.... and the stems turn bluish in a vericose vein type look. Very slight traces of blue but very noticable against such a pale stem gives it a xorpse flesh type look....very halloweeny :smile:

the one i found looked really like a cyan. after i looked at it the stem was wrong and i crushed the stem and cut the cap to check for bluing. after no bluing i knew it was wrong but the cap even mimiked the brownish to sandy color that i have seen cyans with be careful i now see how some people would be tricked.
