anyone else ingesting on election nite??
    #3298111 - 10/30/04 06:38 PM (12 years, 9 months ago)

just wondering if anyone else plans on doing some on that nite...i dont plan on watching much tv, if any at all...i want to walk around outside, or just lay there with my *MINDFOLD* on and crank up some tool...

is this day alot more significant than we even think??

i mean, personally, this will be my 1st time voting for a president, and the way I see it, i think if we lazy americans sit on our lazy asses eating fuckin mcdonalds, taking everything for granted on that day, then our "rights" are going to be taken from us...

but if u get up off your ass and vote for kerry, and hopefully fathom that bush is an evil evil man who doesnt care about u at all and wants to watch you die, then our rights should HOPEFULLY remain in tact.

BTW - i dont want this all to sound like im picking sides here like dem or rep cuz we all know deep down inside its all one giant front and they all work together and keep us blindly and ignorantly glued to tv screens...sure, i said im voting for kerry but does that mean i think hes better for the job??  fuck no, probably not...he'll suck too.....so i guess then, the real question is................

who's gonna start the fuckin revolution already???

anyway sorry for ranting, i'll most likely be buggin on election nite....peace (anarchy)

I'll probably want to do something. If Bush wins, it will be sort of a self-actualizing "fuck you". I really want Kerry to win because I don't think there's any other choice. I actually think he might do a good job as president, but I also have a lot of reservations about him as well. I don't think he's going to be anywhere near the potential some of the 3rd party candites have.

Another term with Bush as president is a nightmare to me. Imagine what that administration would do if they get another 4 years and since Bush has no chance of reelection after that, he won't have much interest in keeping his actions somewhat in the interest of the people. Terrifying to me.

The very nature of experience is ineffable; it transcends cognitive thought and intellectualized analysis. To be without experience is to be without an emotional knowledge of what the experience translates into. The desire for the understanding of what life is made of is the motivation that drives us all. Without it, in fear of the experiences what life can hold is among the greatest contradictions; to live in fear of death while not being alive.

I think it is significant, especially in light of all that Bush has done. I.E. cranked the federal deficit up to record levels, getting us in an unnecessary (and expensive) war and cutting taxes for the very rich. I think Kerry is much more desirable as a president, and I've already put in my vote for him in the early voting here...

>>I can not vote for someone just cuz i dislike the other person as well, thats bunk.

You should read the art of war by Sun Tzu. There's a reason why this text has survived for over 3000 years, and that is because it is effective.

One of the rules in the book is:

The best action is not that what is most convenient for you, but that what hurts your opponent the most.

Or, to quote from Pulp Fiction:

Pride only hurts, it never helps.

So if you want change, suck up your pride and vote tactically.

I completely agree with you. I really don't like either. But I'd hate to go through another 4 years with bush, so I'm voting for Kerry.

Since I don't care which one of those two assholes wins, and I'm getting some mushies the day before, I may just trip that night, and then come back to the Shroomery to find out who won. In any case, I'll be voting for Badnarik.

nice replies...

i was going to copy and paste this when i made the thread, but i forgot, so ladies and gentlemen feast your eyes on this......................

RESUME - GEORGE W. BUSH
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

LAW ENFORCEMENT :
I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the
influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's
license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been
"lost" and is not available.

MILITARY:
I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a
drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas
Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.

COLLEGE:
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:
I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business
in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find
any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my
stock. I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal
that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our right-wing
friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected
governor of Texas.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS:
I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making
Texas the most polluted state in the Union.

During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden
city in America. I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the
tune of billions in borrowed money.

I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history.

With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida , and my father's
appointments to the Supreme Court, I became president after losing by
over 500,000 votes.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:
I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a
criminal record.

I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one
billion dollars per week.

I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.

I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.

I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any
12-month period.

I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.

I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S.
stock market.

In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and
that trend continues every month.

I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any
administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza
Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

I set the record for most campaign fundraising trips by a U.S. President.

I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most
corporate campaign donations.

My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of ! my best friends,
Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S.
History, Enron. My political party used Enron private jets and corporate
attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my
election decision.

I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against
investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating
the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the
biggest corporate rip-offs in history.

I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to
intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history.

I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded
government contracts.

I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President
in U.S. history.

I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucra! cy in
the history of the United States government.

I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history.

I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations
remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.--this is true.

I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.--actually what happened
is the World Court is changing into the International Criminal
Court--because the US wants to be a part of the court, but not
be open to having the US have charges brought up against them, they have
temporarily ceased negotiating with the countries involved in and taking
part in the establishment of the ICC. So, in other words, the US wants to
be able to establish the laws within the ICC, practice those laws within
the ICC, but not have those laws applied to our country.

I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees
and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.--Guantanomo Bay.

I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election
inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).

I set the record for least number of press conferences of any President
since the advent of television.

I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period.

After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst
security failure in U.S. history.

I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center
attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most disliked
country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world
history.

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to
simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people),
shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.

I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked,
preemptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation.
I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens,
and the world community.

I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in
duty benefits for active duty troops and their families - in wartime.

In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking
Iraq, and then blamed the lies on our British friends.

I am the first President in history to have a majority of
Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace
and security.

I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," WMD.

I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden and
Saddam Hussein to justice.

RECORDS AND REFERENCES:
All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's
library, sealed and unavailable for public view.

All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt
companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President,
attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and
unavailable for public view.
