Holes in bottom of casing: beneficial?
    #3298018 - 10/30/04 06:09 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

I was wondering about this..

Pros: Allows for better air exchange through substrate, allows some wicking of water, prevents myc drowning.

Cons: May cause bottom pinning, ???

Does anyone put holes in the bottom of their casings?

Contamination problem. You do not want air exchange everywhere..only where you want pins. These aren't plants and dont work that way. Theres no way your myc can drown if you are only lightly misting it to near saturation so no need for run off places. Holes
