Update: yesterdays account
    #3297678 - 10/30/04 04:11 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

A friend of mine ate some of the cyans.. she felt the great and tripped last night. When she woke this morning, she had a rash all over her body. She barely ate anything the day before and she didnt go anywhere or do anything outside of her usual routine that would cause a rash. Allergic reaction to cyanescens, maybe? Shes eaten cubensis and never has had any ill effects. Another friend ate 4-5 times as much as she did and had no problems at all. The only thing I can think of is dirt or other contaminants in the fruiting area effected her body(there was a pile of shit next to it, perhaps a dog or even human). One other unlikely thing was a funny looking probably poisonous mushroom was growing right in the same patch. It was small with a white stem and a candy cherry colored cap. It could easily be mistakened for a cyanescen in this circumstance, But I could see that it was obviously an imposter, it resembled a young little cycnescen fruit when compared to the rest of the cyanescen fruits. But it was the odd one, the black sheep, there was just something funny about it. I think it may have been a galerina. And I made SURE we didnt mix them up, but could you get sick from eating good mushrooms that grow next to or touch toxic mushrooms?

Yeah, here is an image of Hypholoma aurantiaca (inedible/non-active), growing next to a P. cyanescens pin:

And this is an image of a group of Galerina marginata (deadly) specimens:

that IS exactly what was growing next to the fibs. It has sort of a fuzzy stem/veil.
