Bag Experiment Possible?
    #3297401 - 10/30/04 02:42 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

Is this possible?

- Take old empty mycobag or jar, sterlize it
- Get compost, sterlize it
- Put compost and mycobag or jar together
- Drop piece of old colonized substrate in bag or jar
- Seal
- Wait to colonize
- Case

Sounds reasonable. But I'd recommend putting the compost in the container, then sterilizing. Also, be very sanitary(and quick) when dropping in the colonized piece.

couldnt hav said it better myself. well, i could. why not inject it wtith KARO? u could rolly make the KARO from the p[iece of mycelium, if u give it a good hydrogen peroxide soak (to kill any spores on it). its worth a try. also, maybe get the myc. from the inside of a fresh fruiting body stem, byt eh bottom.

Sterlity isn't a problem, I have little mycology lab that I built in a closet. I wear rubber gloves, a respirator and sterlized clothes. I was just asking if the idea was possible.
