cubes strains mycellium

I wonder if the myc. of every strain of cubensis is rhizomorphic cause I?m having problems getting it with 2 strains, Matias Romero and B+ to be more specific. All I get is slightly rhizomorphic myc. with cottony hues even after doing 8-9 transfers. It only happens with these 2 strains, the others I?m working with show the desired rhizomorphs in a matter of 2 transfers.

Yep it will differ between strains..You should never need to go beyond 2 or 3 transfers..you should have a wonderfully fast strain by then. Are you grabbing the rhizmophoric myc as soon as it grows? If you wait for the dish to colonize then chances are even a little cottony stuff will spread into the rhizo stuff. If you get even a little in your transfer then once again wait it out for the dish to be fully colonized the cottony stuff will have time to grow. As soon as you have a slice of rhizo, grab it.

That?s what I try to do, but I don?t get the rhizos with these particular strains. Gonna post some pics later on so you can see it better. You know, I?m new at agar work, just 3 months experience. Maybe I can?t identify the right stuff yet Here a pic of a selected strain, please tell me if this is what I should look for: Thanks

Here is a pic of a petri with MR on it. It?s a first transfer from a plate in which spores were germinated: These are 3 pieces of the most vigorous myc from the original plate. I don?t know what to select for a transfer. Don?t even know if I should tranfer from this plate and waste another one to get just more cottony myc that is not gonna be used. What do you think?
Thanks for the help man

In that plate there are 3 differents types of mycellium selected from the original plate in which spores were germinated, this way I save petris. I?m trying to isolate a fast growing rhizo strain but it never appears. I?ll keep trying...
Thank you all
