hey all - been lurkin the boards for awhile, decided I should start posting. Great group of guys I've seen here.
ok, anyway - I've been trippin on Mushrooms for awhile, and I'm just about all fed up with *Correction* how hard they are to aqcuire here ;) *Correction*. So, I've been given some serious thought to just growin my own shrooms.
I got a few questions though - would it be very hard to hide my operation from my parents? I'm thinkin gettin the spores would be the hardest part, but a friend of mine might let the spores be sent to his house (his parents are VERY liberal ;)). And, are 'shrooms very hard to grow? I've read up on PF Tek, it all seems pretty straightforward, but I'm a little nervous about investin the money for all this, then contaminating my crop.

I don?t know about hiding, but they are not hard to grow.
Go by the www.growmushrooms.org tek(without the ramsey seal) and use a pressure cooker if possible.

Man - if you're worried about spending money and getting contams and getting caught then don't grow. My dad, a cop, found my shit and almost arrested me. You are going to have problems since you're new to mycology. Even experts have screwups.

Whats up dude, If you can get the spores sent to a friends house, You should grow them there. I found that the PF jars sliced up and cased w/ 5050+ works best for me, Be careful around you parents, My friend just told her mom that she cultivates, now she is missing... it has been like three weeks she hasn't been to school or anywhere. Just be careful.
Spores are easy to get, there are like 3 or 4 really good dealers right now. Speaking of Dealers.... A good way to piss of the moderators is to talk about selling....consider yourself warned.
Someone should email me a bowl.

If your still living with your PARENTS i suggest you don't try this till you move out on your own. If your not of legal age i also STONGLY disagree with meddling with things that you don't understand yet.Also, if you DO disregard what i have said everyone else living with you may suffer the concequences... ask yourself this: Do I want my parents' house siezed??? Do I want the feds searching my PARENTS' mailbox?? Do I want my freedom taken away because i don't look over my shoulder sometimes??? I think you get my point.

I agree with Brown on this one. If your afraid of being caught by your parents, then don't do it. Ask your self, is growing a few shrooms worth the shit I'm gonna get into if I get caught? Am I ready to go to jail if someone rats on me for growing shrooms? Am I ready to devote my time and money to growing shrooms and avoiding being caught?
If you answered no to any of the above questions you should seriously not try growing. ****Note***** Growing shrooms in secret is alot more expensive then growing them outright. ****EndNote*****
I can see a world where this is no poverty and no war, I can also see us attacking that world because they would never expect it.

tnx for the help guys
decided that it is best to wait for a couple years before I try to grow the shit, then I'll be out on my own and won't have to constantly worry about my parents finding out - right now it just seems like it would be one huge headache
These grow tek's are good reading nonetheless, I'll keep readin up on em
