Halloween

Hey ya'll, got a question. Is North Carolina the only place celebrating Halloween on Saturday? Just wondering. I'm not from around here, originally from up North, and we would celebrate holidays on their assigned day, especially 4/20. I know NC is in the bible belt, but come on its just Halloween. What do ya'll think?

Yeah I know that, but all the families around me and the news is telling everybody not to celebrate on Sunday for religious reasons. Even schools are telling parents to have their kids go out on Sat. I'm going to throw down both days, back North we would have mischief night the night before Halloween. Maybe its just this part of NC, I don't know.

I think thats fucking bullshit what their trying to pull.  Religious resons, lol, what fucking religious reasons.  The night before halloween is called the devils night up here, lots of mishchief :grin:

really, man I must be out of the loop or something. Still its not like kids are trick or treating till 2-4 in the morning. When I was a kid we would ussually be home at a reasonable time because of school. I'm thinking people around here consider it some kind of "Satans Holiday" or someting, and will not celebrate "Satans Holiday" on Sunday. Who knows.

Same way here, suprise, suprise. It sucks ass how bad the Southern Baptist Convention controls these states.

If I had kids, they'd be trick or treating on the 31st. My town just had uptown trick or treating YESTERDAY! I was livid. Nothing like ignorant backwards assed christians to fuck up a good thing...

God, you guys don't even know where Halloween came from?  It's an old school tradition that is dated back quite awhile, although the modern form of it in the United States was brought over with Irish Catholics who believed that Nov.1st was the last day to harvest crops.  All of the devil's children would come out and play the night before.  All Hallow's Eve means the night bef :mad2:ore All Saints Day, a catholic tradition to counteract old pagan beliefs about the time of harvest.  Modern day Halloween is only pailed by Christmas as the most commercial holiday.  Ignorant Christian preachers in the South may mistake Halloween as an unholy celebration, and thus not want it celebrated on Sunday, however IMO Easter has become one of the most unholy holidays of them all, and guess what day that is always celebrated?
