can't get the tape off!

i used really cheap tape when i taped up the holes in the lids of my PF jars. I boiled the hell out of them, and it seems that the tape has adhered itself incredibly well to the jar lids. If i were to wipe the top of the tape with rubbing alcohol and pierce the tape with the syringe, would i be risking major contamination? I plan to cover the holes up again with fresh tape after i pierce the existing tape.

sorry if this question has been asked before, haven't been to this forum in a long time. btw we really need that search function back.

well, theres your first problem, the tape only goes on after you innoculate. When boiling you should have 1 or better 2 layers of Al foil. one between the lid and verm. and another just to be safe(prevent h20 from entering while boiling) over the closed lid.

You could have just done this at Dougs.

oh yeh, did you realize that Will swiped $10 from you wallet? on Fri, although i'm not sure if he put it back, i told him too but i don't know if he did.
