    #3292865 - 10/29/04 07:07 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

i started growing tomato plants inside about two months ago and today noticed a small group of mushrooms growning in one of my plants. though i do not plan on ingesting them i would like to know what kind they are if at all possable. right now they are about 1.5 inches tall...white thin stalk, flat to convex cap that is a greyish purple color, with a brown dot in the middle...the underside is dark chocklet brown color...pictures attached. i have never seen mushrooms growning in my indoortomato's befor and am interested in them.

Spore print color is very important for identifying mushrooms, especially for odd ones. If we assume that the color of the gills is the same as the spore print color (they often aren't), then these are probably Agaricus.

Happy mushrooming!
