According to the newsletter:

Sure it's still fucked up. But now to complicate the issue, it's your word against hers. Good work.

that exhibit is in town right now.
my brother-in-law says it's pretty wild, but there are pieces that are far more artistic than scientific, which begs the question of whether this sort of thing is moral.

Is it just me or have the number of signatures in the petition increased suddenly?

I find those quite appealing, especially the cat's head pasted on that beautiful vase, that is some art

that shit isn't art. The argument that this "art" protests something is completely baseless and contradictory. When an animal dies in a butcher yard, or on a farm.. they are killed for practical, beneficial purposes.
We GET food, clothing and other resources from animals that are killed industrially. Killing a cat, or a rabbit, for no reason but "art" to look at and trying to pass it off like you want to bring attention to the plight and suffering of animals is absolutely idiotic, hypocritical, and completely unacceptable. Shame, fucking shame on her and those who like her art.

I find it interesting how quickly people can get up in arms about something like this. This "art" is nothing I'm interested in but I'm just saying alot (not all) of animal rights activists seem to be so worried about animals and wildlife and the wanton killing of them it seems to only surface when its right in your face when it happens to a cute fluffy animal in this kind of form or animal testing etc. Every square mile of tract housing and suburban sprawl that increases every single year kills more cute fluffy animals 100 times more animals than this women. I don't support her but if you want petition for animal's rights go protest land developers to build more efficient communites not artists.

a very good point. urban sprawl, pollution and global warming causes species extinction and major habitat destruction everyday... and also consider the maltreatment of animals through the food we eat and the mice that get tested for the medical treatment we recieve... i feel the same way you do... while i dont agree with this artist, i think theres alot more in the world to be concerned about besides the artist. maybe by doing this "Art" project thats what she was trying to make us think about...

Their might be merit to that... She might actually be creating art, against the the views of many...look at all the posts this got. It made me think.
When I eat a chicken sandwitch at Mcdonald's for a dollar that chicken probably lived in a 2X2X2 cage its entire life, which is pretty fucked. At least these mice and kittens and whatever lived a real life for a bit. But I like my chicken sandwitch for $1 at the same time. (hell, if it wasn't for the dollar menu at MCD's i'd die of starvation.....I....need....sustinence)

Hey bottom line Im not sick, twisted, pessemistic, or hateful, Im not a vegetarian or an animal killer, Im not an animal rights person either. Her shit was cool, yet brutal and demented, but it is art!!! Art is just creativity and media, her media is poor dead animals and thrift store vases. lol but its odd and it made you talk about it. and I dont think its ever been done before but still. I eat jack in the box and Micky Dees and I LOVE IT. I also love art. So whats the big deal?? Nothing really, some don't. That is why America has the motion picture ratings... to warn weak minds not to watch if they cant fathom the art, dimensia, or just plain sick shit that is displayed for most peoples fat boring pleasure

ah the old double-edged sword
maybe it's art, but it's also senseless killing
it's just as rediculous as about a hundred other things human society currently exhibits.

personally, if I ruled the world.. I would not permit her to make art by killing living creatures. Maybe if she found already dead ones, that would be a different story. It's like chopping down a tree for firewood instead of finding already dead wood laying on the ground, a waste of life.
Also if I ruled the world there wouldn't be this fucking rediculous war on drugs and freedom. And war, period.

Seriously, that shit ain't art people.
It's B-grade taxidermy.
And by B-grade, I'm talking B as in B-movie as in Naked Space B movie. Ever see that one? Don't. That's how bad it is.
This is a woman who flunked out of taxidermy school, yet wanted to continue, yet couldn't kill wild animals, and also who has no wall space to properly mount them. Not art. AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaa-durr.
