making someone's day
    #3292634 - 10/29/04 03:21 AM (19 years, 4 months ago)

As I was exiting a library through a fire exit located in a stairwell today, I ran across a young black man with crutches and a slow limp. He greeted me and offered to let me pass first because of his pace. As I past, he complimented me on my new 3/4" engraved buffalo horn plugs. I said thanks and stopped to talk to him a while about them since he seemed interested. When I stopped, he introduced himself as did I, telling him it was nice to meet him.

During this exchange, the man's aura and personality went from depressed to happy. Just by acknowloging him and not being afraid because he was cripple was enough to make this man's day, as well as mine.

Your lack of response has forced me to contemplate on my own. And I've concluded that you were probably talking about the earring sort of plugs. Am I right?

I've got earrings, but I never understood the obsession with making the holes bigger...

three of my older brothers have there dicks peirced (and various other things peirced), they said the pain went away after a few minutes, but it bleeds a lot and the first few pisses hurt like hell.

yeah, earrings...

you would understand the obsession with stretching the first time you feel the adreneline after a stretching session

As time passes my stream of consciousness often takes on themes and every once in a while it culminates into something like an epiphany.  Well this got me thinking about how important it is to be positive.  If people could always be less inhibited, less afraid, and more happy and outgoing and kind to one another, it would have a positive impact.  Water eventually wears down the hardest rocks.

Indeed, indeed. If we all embraced positive thoughts and set out to genuinely interact with others with at least an ounce of compassion, the world would greatly change. Just walking by someone on the street or in Wal*Mart and saying hei, and mentally thinking "hey, its another human being i've encountered, another person on the Way, that's fucking awesome"... I mean, fuck.

But nei, we have to either act indifferent or polite in an overwhelmingly fake sense, or just be far too wrapped up in our own mental games with no point to even acknowledge others... all it would take is a sense of positivity for even acknowleding someone else.... what a world, what a world...

Peace. :mushroom2:

I talk to a lot of people during the day.  I am uplifted, personally, by talkng to them, but today someone said she was glad she spoke with  me.

I was in a court room, waiting for the judge to come out and tell me why my case was shit, and I was talking to the clerk.  Somehow, the subject of ADHD came up, and she told me...

I'll finish this tomorrow.  For $5 per email, I'll answer sooner.
