Kerry Rally today
    #3291493 - 10/28/04 11:26 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

With 50,000+ people in attendance to this massive rally featuring "the boss" springsteen playing some songs and John Kerry, it was quite an exciting event. armed with my buttons and signs we waited a long 3 hours in line (metal detectors) and finally got in to wait another hour for a great speech for john kerry and speeches from others.

The upper class white bush fans were just plain obnoxious. they taunted the massive wads of pro kerryians with their snide remarks and loud chants. I really want kerry to win. Here are so photos of the day:

Kelly, Melissa and I waiting in line.

waiting in line still..

people

more people and you might barely be able to make out kerry

us again

hope you enjoyed!

VOTE KERRY!

 :eyemouth: :eyemouth: :rudolph:

Looks like an experience.
What'd Kerry talk about?

He spoke for a long time. He covered every issue in the brief, from foreign policy to tuition rates to healthcare, you name it.

I hope he wins, I'm glad you guys in swing states are voting for Kerry.

Theres always those obnoxious republicans at rallys.  There was a small pocket of them protesting the protesters in SF both years, chanting, blowing smoke in cmonkey and my faces, they actually grabbed my sign the first year.. that got me on the front page of the paper, so it was alright. hehe

It looks like you had alot of fun. I hope your efforts pay off and Kerry beats Bush, even with all my problems with Kerry.

Honestly I don't see enough difference between him and Bush on the issues that count for me. I'll be voting Libertarian.

But what about if you were going to vote for bush in the beginning. I really think bush will have more votes taken from him due to 3rd parties than kerry will. Of course ss7 lives in cali so it doesn't matter at all.

amethyst, you dont know anything. I live in california, its electoral votes (we have a electoral college, we dont vote directly for president in case you were unaware) are going to Kerry, therefor, i'm free to vote for whoever I like, which i would do anyway. but enough of that, this is about jnny's experience at the kerry rally not californian voting records.

If you don't feel like being active in the presidential election, get out and vote for your local government and learn the facts, they are important too

I think it's great the amount of attention the election is getting, and am loving the fact that there are so many new votors registering these days, and so many people promoting the power of voting.  Voting is bullshit unless everyone participates

I also like to see the discussion of the two-party system and its inherent faults.  I think the sooner we move away from the two-party system which inhibits the legitimized discussion of so many topics (which incidentally the libertarian party is pretty good at adressing), the people of our country and ultimately the world will become more rationalized in thought -- hopefully more objective and able to see things without the everclouding influence of strong emotion that afflicts our entire race.

The way the system (i.e. gov't and social/cultural order) works today, seems to present overwhelming evidence that humans are selfish beings largely unable or unwilling to sacrifice for the greater good without some sort of personal benefit.  Yeech!  Everyone needs to think a little so our evolution will lead us to the status of Prot and his K-Paxian bro's..

... ramble ramble ramble - I'm stoned :beer::spliff:
Just think about it for a while.  :tongue2:

Agreed, stoner  :stoned:

The amount of young voters registered right now is ENORMOUS.

Voter turn out is going to be record breaking, no doubt.

Why? because people are starting to actually CARE.

I never thought I'd be so politically active but i care so much and i've gotten so involved with the democratic party this election, crazy. At the same time i can respect other peoples opinions although i think bush is a crazy man and they want so bad to believe hes doing what is right and NOT lying through the teeth.

I hate how the popular vote DOES NOT decide the election... fucking framers fucked up that constitution shit when they added the electoral college.. Actually, I am sure the EC came long after the NJ delegates... either way, the DIRECT POPULAR VOTE needs to decide the vote... fucking Gore won popular vote, but Bush got to office.. haha...
