Thin mycelium is often associated dry a drier substrate it is also a trait of certain strains (non-cubie). Myc thrives in a very moist environment (nearly saturated but not). GL! I think you'll be fine although a dunk may be in order  Welcome

the jars have lots of water droplets between mycelium and jar, do you think they will thicken, or do you think i should try and case them with verm / peat mix

The colonized bags that I have now started out just like that, but now they are exploding with growth. Like they said, more moisture. Give it some more time too. I was too expectant at first, then my mom told me to give it a while. I just about forgot about it for a week, then checked on it, and WOW!

I think so.  Just incubate.  And stop peeking so much.

well, too much love can hurt your grow my friend. when they're in the jar stage, check on them maybe once a week.

oh, and good luck... welcome to the shroomery, haven't seen you around before.

Wow. I can't see too well, so you need to judge them... but they look a little wet. Very fluffy growth, almost like right after germination. But they both look like mycs. I don't know why the cakes are so small and there is so much room between the jar and the cake.(looks too young to be shrinking so fast)

I think the best best is to flip the jars(to right side up) and let them colonize. Usually, there isn't much space between the jar and the substrate and myc grows through the substrate. It looks like the myc is growing to fluffy growth to fill the gap between the glass and the cake right now. Give it some time right side up.

Good luck.

Sam
