Hi, first off I should say that I am pleased to be part of such a helping hand infrastructure (this forum.) I look forward to a whole new world of knowledge to come. With that said, I would like to ask if anyone resides, or has resided in Eastern North Carolina? To be specific, about an hour from Morehead City, and about 20 minutes from New Bern. If you have, I would also like to know what your experience has been in this area? Obviously I am very new to this. I am aware of what species of Mushroom grow in my area, but just wanted to hear about other peoples ventures, and anything you think I might find informational and/or interesting. Thanks a lot for the info.

Welcome to the Shroomery!
My advice right now would be to get a mushroom hunting book. Mushrooms Demystified by David Arora is my favorite. It has everything you need to know.
We do have a mushroom hunting FAQ here as well, which has some good info as well.
I honestly do not know much about North Carolina. I would imagine its getting colder there, and might be the end of the season.

I live about 100 miles from Wilmington. You're right, it's a very happening place, I happen to love it, too. I was there once and I stayed at the Hilton and the USMC birthday party was going on there. Lots of crazy drunk marines :-) I have also never seen so many beautiful women in one spot in North Carolina :-) Thanks for suggesting that Mushroom Book :-) Well, I think I am gonna go do some exploring, who knows what I will find out there. Critters probably :-) Also, thank you for the Mushroom book suggestion.
