    #3287594 - 10/28/04 01:09 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

alright so i found a patch of Psilocybe cyanescens at a park and took a few patches back to my lair. the problem is i don't want to start a new batch from spores as their already coming along quite nicely but i haven't seen any methods besides that of making cakes. any suggestions?

Just throw the colonized chips in with pasteurized chips and let that colonize. You can then use this as spawn to mix into more chips outdoors to make a patch closer to home. Fruiting ps cyans indoors is really hard, you need to fluctuate the temps around 65-40F. Your better off just making patches and waiting for next fall. Also It wouldnt be a bad idea to throw a layer of fresh chips over the patches you found so they come back next year with larger flushes.

I think you need to go play in some poo to grow those...  try the search function.  We've been talking a lot about those.

how mushy do the chips need to be because i planed halp in an old dog house filled with cedar chips but cedar is very water resistant.
also are Psilocybe cubensis easier to grow because those are redily available here as well.

Cubies are much easier to grow. Thats the average species that is grown. Other species can be moved to after that. Cyans are a difficult species to cultivate.

You are mixing up species. Panoleous Cyans have been talked about recently and like straw and poo but Psilocybe Cyans are a wood lover like azures. Pan Cyans are a bit easier to cultivate I hear then Ps. Cyans. I havn't tried either yet..
