Why No Misting After Pins?

I have heard everyone say mist once or twice a day (in the situation of a fully automated PMP) then fan so the casing will glisten, stay moist, and so you make sure you get air exchange. Now, this advice has been rewarding and I got pins (with more following, a lot more) but I decided that I would mist once ( about 10 inches away from the casings) very lightly since things were looking kinda dry. I have heard many say that not to mist on the pins (eventhough I did) but what will happen to them? I cant really mist right on the casing around the BIG pins cause I'll most probably make water droplets getting too close and most probably drown the upcoming pins. What do I do? Any advice welcome. Humidity is 90-95% by the way.

I've been misting my pins with seemingly no ill effects.... Seems silly. Pins are rained on all the time in the wild.
Maybe you're just not supposed to mist with H2O2 water?

I've got cakes that have lots of pins and I'm misting a few times a day with reverse osmosis water. it's my first grow, so I'm no authority, but they seem to be doing fine. and if I don't mist, the cakes look really dry and the mycelium starts turning blue. I've got geolite and a bubbler, so I'm not sure how I would be able to get the humidity higher without misting.

Misting is fine. I believe it's when they become excessively wet that it begins to interfere with fruiting and cause aborts. I myself do not know how much would be considered excessive. If you're not having any problems though, I'd keep it up. Extra moisture will help your substrate from becoming dehydrated.

Mist but dont soak your shrooms/pins. Mist the substrate mostly and use a fine mist and let it fall down onto it.

If you soak the mushies by mistake, just fan a whole bunch. You don't need to fan to rid of all the water droplets. Mushies will absorb the small droplets.

Scatmanrav said what I was reading the whole post through to post about.
Mist far above your casings/cakes so that only a VERY fine mist (basically non-existant to the naked eye) will fall on your cakes. If they are pinning chances are they already have the water they need. There's no reason to cause any aborts if you have the chance not to IMO.
Did you dunk your cakes before fruiting? I've haven't had one get so dry that it began bluing on the first flush yet.

Yea definately dunk all of your cakes from now on before birthing!
It will produce a greater yield even on the first flush and will definately help out with that drying out problem.

Yea. I dunked them. Im just trying to keep the top glistening/moist and Ive noticed that the casing is pulling from the side (very little) so I wanna be safe, I would hate to get any aborts.
