curious how one would choose to go, assuming one ahd the choice. curious what the different beleifs have to say about this. perhaps your beliefs are to only be cremated? buried? natural? artificial? where/when/who/with etc etc.

Cremated, I dont want my dead body taking up space that could be used as shelter for someone.

I personally do not see any importance in how my body is handled after death. If anything though i would go with psyka's idea as graveyards do seem like a waste of space (obviously depending on where you live).
As for actually dying, i would like to know i was going (sort of fading away) but i wouldn't fancy any pain (pussy!  ) Or maybe something instant, so you wouldn't even know you have gone.

well... WHEN i die, i would want to be buried in the ground, no coffin in the woods of upstate new york, but i know that wont happen unless i get murdered up there.
if i had to choose, i would want one of three ways...
the first being: i would take an obscene amount of painkiller, percs, vics, whatever, maybe some somas... and then have a nice glass of wine.
the reason for this is that i have almost overdosed on these before, and it was rather frightening (i was younger and had not contemplated death like i have now) but i recall the experience as being comfortable at first, until i realized the opportunity for death.
the second way would have to be hit by a car. a fast car. i had quite a long suicidal phase while i was in the military, and i would cross streets without looking, just hoping someone would hit me and i wouldnt have to worry about killing myself (a strange flow of cowardice consumed my military career).
the third, and probably the best way i would want go (saved the best for last, pun) would be by being struck by lightening...
it is a reacurring theme in psychedelic voyages, that i would become lightening one day... i never knew what it meant, until i had a vivid dream about many natural threats from the weather. (tornados are strong themes as well, but thats not on topic). i have a strange sense now that i WILL get struck by lightening some day. that i WILL go by having nature throw a bolt through me.
they say its painful, but if i was dying now, i wouldnt worry about it.
all my loose ends have been realized for what they are.

One can only predict but I reckon it'd be pretty painless...and nice..I like to think so anyway.

Overdose on something...or i'd like to have my body ejected into space with as much oxygen as possible and then die when it's gone.

ive thought about this, and come ot the following possibilities
one would be to overdose on some kind of depressant, like opium or heroin, assuming that that would be amazingly pleasurable and lead to a falling asleep as your vital systems slowed down and stopped, But maybe it would be unpleasant, though i find that hard to imagine
another thing ive entertained would be to jump out of an incredibly high plane. You would get the most intense rush of your life, and feel absolutely liberated and free as you realize there is no turning back and your free fall. You would get an incredible view of the world, and for those last moments before you died, you would feel more alive than ever.

was wondering if someone had the same way as me. space would be my ultimate. like in space cowboys. teh further i can go the better.
very interesting. so religion doesnt have much influence on anybodies way of going, or the handling of the body after wards? i really just dont want to be found. i dont want to be burried or cremated, just left alone somewhere nice (rainforest cliff by the ocean would be my # 1 aside from space ).

i hope your joking. Thats like my worst nightmare man
and yeah as for how id want to be handeld after death, definetly id want to just be laid down at the foot of a beautifull tree in the whiteshell wilderness, my favourite place in the world so far, and my future permanent home perhaps.
Maybe id want a few flowers on my chest, and if possible a 'view' of the lake flowing by. But the main thing is id really want to be laid down in the woods, no casket, in the sun and rain and elements, allowed to return to the earth and be reabsorbed by nature, where my nutrients could flow into the grass and trees and bugs.
Id hate to be buried (obviously i wouldnt REALLY care but you know) in a coffin, thats just selfish and egotistical and expensive and crap. Laid out in rows of little boxes wiith all the other stiffs man fuck it i want to be in nature,
and yeah id want them to burn some nag champa incences and smoke a bowl in rememberance of me, and read Kahlil Gibrans chapter on dieing out loud (from the prophet)

Well it would be one hell of a test before death
Your choices would be meditation or insanity
Both followed with the death of staravtion, testing your desire towards survival
But it would be over either way
