i'm really worried

i cut up some shrooms and swallowed them in gelcaps. maybe
three normal-sized gel-caps stuffed with 'em, I'd say about a half an eighth.
i took two at first with some pepsi. about 15 mintues later i drank a bottle
of beer. so i was dancing around and stuff and they kicked in and my face
was platered in a perma-smile. things felt so good that i decided to take
the third...swallowing it down with about 1/3 bottle of pepsi. it didn't kick
in for a while, of course, and when it did, things were great...and i felt
awesome for a while, but then, completely suddenly, i started to feel all
numb and sick and got really scared... even though i was kinda happy, too.
the next thing i know i am lying on the ground and everything is black with
colors flashing in my mind. my friend later told me my eyes were open the
whole time but completely dialated. i stood up and collapsed onto my friend.
i couldn't walk. i could control myself a little when i sat down, but the
rest of the night i was going insane and couldn't control my mind AT ALL or
feel my legs... and when i scratched my scalp, i didn't feel it 'till i put
my hand back down. talking seemed so far away and i didn't know if i would
ever get back. what the heck happened to me and why? did it have something to
do with how i took them? the alcohol? i didn't take very much. could i have
died??? please answer me. i don't know if i'm in any lingering danger or what
i should do to avoid this next time. this was my third experience, but it
was more than i took the last two times. I'm pretty sure most of what happened was normal, but what I am worried about is why did I got numb and then just collapse with completely dialated eyes, and then not be able to walk on my own? Did I have a heart attack?

What kind of shrooms, & did you get them from a trustworthy source?

To get those kind of effects on that small a dose they had to be some mighty potent shrooms, or more likely spiked with some weird chemical. The numbness, dissociation, and loss of muscular control sounds more like PCP or some such garbage than normal shrooms.

Doubtful that the beer or pepsi had anything to do with it. Doubtful there will be any lasting harm, since you survived to tell the tale. But maybe you better find a more trustworthy source for shrooms in the future.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you're very physically sick for days after, which is a sign of poisoning, in which case you should see a doctor. It could have been one of many things:
- might have been something else cut in those gel caps. (other chemicals/drugs/who knows). Often people lace weak or non hallucagenic mushrooms with acid or something else and sell them as Psilicybes (the proper ones). I once read that only 38% of mushrooms sold on the street are real Psilicybon carrying shrooms.
- It could have been that you where sick or had a virus and didn't know it (happens more often than you'd expect)
- The shrooms might have been rotten and gave you food poisoning
- You might have got food poisoning from something else.
- Maybe nothing was wrong and they just knocked your socks off. (They are a powerful hallucagenic drug...)

To try and ensure it doesn't happen again, get them from someone you trust and buy them in a recognizable form (whole, dried/fresh shrooms). Not some ground powder or chopped up shrooms that could be anything. Fresh is best because it's hard to tell if a shroom was a bit rotten after they have been dryed. The ultimate solution is to pick them yourself.

You definatley didn't have a heart attack, no question. A heart attack is intesnley painful, and you'd know it if you had one.

The dilated eyes, weak/disconnected feeling in your limbs and the feeling of ' going crazy ' is all very common on mushroom trips.

Did you die? No, fuck, settle down! You just had a adverse reaction to some hallucagenic mushrooms you ate.

I say 2 maybe 3 reasons. Ground mushroom hit you fast because they are easier to digest ..Alcohol with shrooms hit you way faster because the booze helps the body absorb them and if you had an empty stomache as well, that would speed things up even more. I've noticed the trip will usually be short and strong when doing what you did.......

Going crazy will drive you mad, but once you get there the rest is easy.....

Chemical rxn no I dont think so. One night I ate 4 grams of mush, smoked 3 joints, dropped xtc and got drunk and nothing weird happened to me then. So I think from experience that you were in the clear the whole time or as others had said maybe they were chemically enhanced mush.

You must know that some people have a huge sensitivity to psilocybin, even a gram could send em flying to the moon. You may have a high sensitivity, or you could have just got some really potent shrooms.

Man, if it weren't for that can we found, life around here would be really pathetic.

Before you ever commit a mushroom deed, eat heaps as it is the energy that you will need. I have never experienced not being able to walk bymeself even though I was very out of it.
I usually end up walking heaps everywhere and dancing till the music stops. It seems like I have that unlimited supply of energy. It has happened a few times that I started losing it and my ego started splitting, but then I would spew and the trip would become much more bareble. I am not suggesting that you should spew but whenever I was getting close to experiencing what you did I would spew(not deliberately) and feel much better.

Seriously, you just had a strong trip, resulting from many possibilities I don't need to mention. I should imagine getting a trusted supply so you can pace yourself is a good move.
