Pachanoi cuttings taken from tall plant...question
    #3279096 - 10/26/04 01:13 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

rabbits nibbled at them...
the two larger cuttings were taken from atop a ten foot wild pedro, (very unhealty and starved ), and the bottom of one is beginning to rot...should i cut off the rot, and plant it, or graft it onto an existing pedro plant? or perhaps i could make a stew of all the cuttings there... :tongue2: would that be enough for a pedro stew? and the small cuttings...i was thinking maybe if i planted them , they would sprout pups (they've been topped allready and are somewhat rotted) also, if i boiled rotted pedro, would it be dangerous/hazardous to my health, i'd think the boiling would kill all bacteria but please tell me if i'm wrong. would a somewhat older rotted pedro cutting, such as these, even have usable amounts of mesc?

If you have a source of better cuttings i wouldn't bother planting these and just get some nice logs to plant. Eat those gnarly chunks up, cut out any rotted part and you should be fine. And about the mescaline content im sure there chock full o mesc.

It's hard to judge the size by your photograph, but it doesn't look enough to trip off. I'd say plant the two big ones and perhaps the one on the bottom left in separate pots. When they've put out roots and are growing again, either keep them in pots or plant them in your garden (depending on the local climate)
