Found these in my Backyard :) Help with ID? (pics inside)
    #3274845 - 10/25/04 10:18 AM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I need some help with an ID.

Habitat: Found in CT/New England/East COast USA Climate zone 6. Growing in my open back yard in the grass. Recently had rain about 4 or so days ago.

Stem: Stem is thick about a little smaller than a dime, its white, and hollow. About 2 inches maybe less long.

Spores: Im doing the print right now, i will add it in later on, but in the meantime im looking for possible guesses.

The temp is about 55 degrees here.

Any help is appreciated. Ask more questions so i can help out with IDing.. im still new here.

for azures i think the gills are wrong color.. also there is no bluing on your mushrooms at all .. so chances are slim imo

Any idea on what they MAY be?

i Just remembered something too, even though theyre growing on the soil, i cant forget that where they are growing there used to be a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE tree like 3 or so years ago, when we moved in we cut it down, it was some kind of maple tree if i recall... but the root structure was monsterously huge and is still under the ground.

azures grow in washington and oregon, on woodchips mostly. I bet that sporeprint is going to be white, and I would not eat those.

in CT, it's too late for pan subbs I belive, but you could probably find some gyms, personally, I would just wait till you get those cubes, would be better.

They look like Honey Mushrooms (Armillaria sp.). If they are, the spore print should come out white.

Happy mushrooming!

Azures do not and cannot grow in Conneticut, unless cultivated. Sorry to disappoint you, keep hunting.
