question about colonisation
    #3278892 - 10/26/04 10:07 AM (19 years, 5 months ago)

hi to all, i have 7 jars almost done (95-100%) except for the part of the jar which is 1cm below dry vermiculite layer. it's happening to all 7 jars so i'm wondering if i did something wrong or it is usual for this part to colonise slower. i am on the 16th day, growing cambodians and equadorians and 3 days ago i started turning upside down the jars every day. any suggestions beyond patience ? thanks

leave em upside down... lids down. Cakes can shrink and let a little verm slip down covering up the mycelium right below the verm, theyll be fine. after theyre 100 % colonized wait another 3 days or so b4 birthing to ensure that the insides are colonized. Good luck and congrats on some colonized jars. Mushies are soon to follow.
