I dont know if this is a stupid question. I just really wanted someone to explain what is meant by the 'Loss of ego' or 'Ego softening' while taking shrooms.
Thanks.

There's a really good thread about ego loss floating around somewhere. I'll try to find it for you in a second. When I am shrooming, I can tell my ego is softening because my perceptions start to fragment. Everything around me begins to feel like it is merging into something else much bigger, and much more complete. *Everything* exists everywhere. Sometimes this is only a slight sensation, and sometimes it is more powerful, depending on the trip. When experiencing complete ego loss (for me), there was a total flowing of one sense into another, and words cannot do justice to this. I become "everything and nothing," completely absorbed, the "I" broken apart and smeared across infinity. It is a state of total awareness, so you can imagine how intense it would be to get a sense that you are *experiencing* everything that ever was and everything that will be. It is total immersion. And there is no beginning or end, there just Is. Anyway, sorry if that is difficult to understand, but these things are a bit hard to translate into words. hope I helped *me* EDIT: Click here to read a long thread about ego loss.

Yep that helped as much as is probably possible, I'm sure I will understand a lot more when I experience it myself.

I read up for years on ego loss and thought I was prepared. Once it finally happens it's breathtaking. It really does feel like you are part of something much much bigger. It's like your body is the only thing that seperates you from the "big picture". I've only had ego dissulotion twice and it was on 11 grams of mushrooms and once on 5 sugar cubes. I like exploring on cid better. Mushrooms are too real so to say. When I get my body back on shrooms its all cold and numb and twitching. Freaked me out pretty bad. called 911 lol.
