hey i was wondrering if i could do this how effective it would be. i have a 1 quart jar colonizing with mycelim pf tek style but with perlite instead of vermiculite. anyways its a little over 3 weeks old and only about 1/4 of the way colonized. (cambodian Strain) i have no top layer of verm on top and the mycelium is growing all up on top. people are saying that moisture will be a problem because i using perlite can i do this http://www.shroomery.org/index/the/default/par/8002
and get good results? i wanna do this later when i come home has anyone ever used that tek and been succesful. also could i just boil a jar of water for a hour to sterilize it?

the only way you would know if it will work is if you try, i dont see why not. i also strongly suggest you spend some time reading the faqs and teks here before you go trying anything else. and no, boiling a jar of water for an hour wont sterilize it, but it will kill a heaping majority of contams, which isnt sufficient for the liquid mycellium tek.

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
