Salvia - Lowest possible RH, and transport advice?
    #3278428 - 10/26/04 08:06 AM (12 years, 2 months ago)

Hey peoples,

Two questions for ya here-

1) What is the lowest relative humidity that one would be able to acclimatise salvia divinorum plants to?

2) Does anyone have any tips on transporting live, rooted salvia plants? I'm movin towns soon gonna be away for a few months so I want to take my plants with me, they'll die if I don't.

My plan was, to pull off all of the large leaves and chew 'em. Then prune down the main branches and maybe put a few unrooted sections in a container with some damp peat moss for transporting (will take about 20 hours door to door) which I can root and grow just incase the big ones don't make it. As for the big ones I was gonna put them in a plastic storage tub with plenty of newspaper around the pots to hold them steady while theyre in the car, then just keep em humid somehow like an occasional misting. Does this plan sound allright to you guys? How sensitive is salvia to a big car ride?

It should be possible to just acclimitize it to your inside house conditions without a humidity tent.

I normally transport my plants in milk crates.
