are you positive they're muscaria? I believe there is hundreds of different amanitas out there. I'd leave them alone because i have no desire to consume muscarias.

not sure actually. not totally sure, although i got the impression from what i read that the big red toadstool with white spots on it was amanita muscaria. And that's exactly what it is. ive seen them growing before but not for a while.

Is it near any trees? From what I've read Amanita Muscaria form a mycorrhizal relationship with the roots of certain species of trees. I dont know exactly what trees they are, but if they are near some trees and you know the species of the tree, or even just the common name of the tree, I'm sure that would help someone answer your question. I think pine trees may be one of the types, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I guess they have a unique look, there are some other similar looking Amanitas, some have the white spots but not the colour, there is one species that is bright red but without the warts. I'd say they would be Amanita Muscaria, but if you were ever thinking of ingesting them I'd still be cautious.

Hope I helped.

tehre is another that looks very similar but is regarded as edible. starts with an r...google it. i dont know if it has teh rings thought, adn the stalk has a pinkish tone.

if you do decide to try it, prep right and i think youll have a good time. i dotn get sick off it so i quite enjoy them.

it's definately muscaria. bright red top with the white warts, living under some trees... all the signs, also i'm pretty sure there's only one variety in this county that looks like that. I'm not seriously considering ingesting it... from what ive heard it's more of an ordeal than a trip.
