i think im fighting a losing battle here with my latest rubbermaid tub... i made it too wet and the myc isnt growing and a few spots of cobweb have taken hold.... now im looking for the kind of advice no one wants to ask for, how best to dispose of a good 5-10 pounds of dirty, wet straw. im kind of apprehensive to just throw it out with the trash for obvious reasons.

i dont mind cleaning... i was elbow deep in shit and straw once, i can do it again. would hanging it up to drain, and then baking it in the oven really do the trick?

thats pretty much where im at... no car/no access to a car = no travel. the neighbors have a compost box, but thats a bit close to home and the neighbors seem a bit uptight (came over and yelled at me because i had befriended a local stray cat) and might not take too kindly to what i have to dump in there.

im curious if sam has actually tried recycling though. i dont see why it wouldnt work, but then it simply could not because god hates me.

it might ...try baking @170F for 8 hrs

I stay away from it too Sam :wink: I've done some straw but never tried recycling it. Follow Geroge and Kramers advice. Hyphae might come along, I know he'd have a little more insight as he works with some sort of shit like that :smile:
