Straight in at the shallow end
    #3271525 - 10/24/04 01:31 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

Ok so I've decided to buy a Koh Samui growing kit to start off with.

I was wondering what results people have had by growing these or similar grow kits just by keeping them in a closed plastic bag in an area slightly warm and spraying water in the bag every now and again.  Thats how I plan to grow them...

I wish I could afford to get a proper set up but alas that will have to wait

ps. anyone tripped on these mushrooms before? how were they?

thanks!

I am against most growing kits. Do you have a link so we can see what it looks like? I beleive for the most part growing kits are ridiculously overpriced and if you took that money to buy some grain, a PC and some jars it's money much more wisely spent. That's not to say that all growing kits are bad, in my experience growing kits have proven to be useless contraptions.
The grow kits I've gotten in the past sound much different from what you have there. Can you elaborate more on how it works?
What you described there sounds like it could get easily contaminated. Mabey I'm mistaken though.

so why are you asking .. i mean spamming?

grow kits suck!
they cost too much for what you get

the same money spent on a pc,jars, and substrate would get you 100 time more shrooms not to mention you can use them over and over so your subsequent batches of shrooms can be grown out for less than $1 per oz  :pimpslap:

You know... grow kits come with specific instructions and help can become scarce because advices to deviate from those procedures are not generally given out.

If you get a grow kit, you are spending way too much money and limiting yourself of valuable help...

Sorry.. just my 2cents. I don't recommend of use of grow kits.

well you do have the internet...
and i assume you have a phone?
start by calling thrift stores if your trying to save cash otherwise just go buy new
a few phone calls before you leave on your supply run will save a lot of time and hassle

I just planned on using a grow kit to start out with!

I do intend to setup and grow from scratch someday, its just that i live in the middle of nowhere, the nearest city is almsot 100 miles away. It would have to be over the net that i got all the supplies and everywhere i look its all american sites selling these things

i suggest that might be a bit messy and make your mom a little mad

anyway yeah this is my frist grow and all i did was go to work ( a grocery store ) and picked up everything i needed ( minus a thermometer and a aquarium heater which a freind got from his job) and all for 2.00 dollars because of "employee discounts" but anyway it would have only cost about 25 bucks max so yeah you spent way to much

You'd be very happy with the Koh Samui strain, it's very forgiving, and clusters alot of many small-medium fruits. Trip is known to be visually-inclined
